French

Intent

We aim for the children in KS2 to become confident and competent in the foreign language (French) they are learning, developing and demonstrating substantial progress in the 5 key language skills necessary for learning French: (Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing and Grammar).

Impact

French will be taught in whole –class settings by the non-specialist class teacher or the non –specialist HLTA.

Implementation 

Teachers will plan their lessons using the Language Angels scheme of work, supplementing this with their own ideas and experiences and those of their colleagues.

Each KS2 class will have a timetabled lesson of at least thirty minutes each week.
